The Sabbat Weekender
Part 4 - Taking Down Mithras
The Armies of Mithras were marching on Cambridge under the control of Queen Anne; the Prince of London. Prince Frankham of Cambridge and the combined armies of the Sabbat, Camarilla and a contingent of werewolves marched down to meet them. A huge battle ensued, culminating in the two Princes going toe-to-toe; Prince Frankham eventually defeating Queen Anne.
With Queen Anne dead and Mithras' vanguard defeated, Mithras personally took to the battlefield to regain control of his armies.
Herr Schmidt attended the Cainites of Norwich to spearhead a ritual being performed globally by the Sabbat. A enhanced version of Body of the Juggernaut had been developed by scholars of the Sect. The ritual empowered the Cainites of Norwich, bringing them closer to Caine, strengthening their minds, bodies and spirits, and gifting them further powers of the Blood.
As the ritual culminated a group of Norwich Cainites broke cover to engage Mithras. Simultaneously another contingent attacked the nearby holy relic that Prince Frankham of Cambridge had located.
The Scorpion
The Cainites stormed an underground Church of Mithras encountering fierce resistance from Holy Priests and an Avatar of Mithras. After vanquishing the defenders the Cainites turned their attentions to the artefact; the preserved remains of the scorpion that helped Mithras defeat the bull in ancient times - a story of great power and significance to Mithras. The Sabbat destroyed it utterly, striking Mithras with a stunning blow.
The Antediluvian
The Cainites broke cover on the battlefield. As they approached Mithras they felt the power of a God King. Daunted by his impervious presence, they called in the the strike from the Orbital Solar Reflector. The sky burst into fire as sunlight many thousands times the noons glare beat down from space onto the dense clouds of ash summonded by Mithras, diverting his attension to reinforce his shield.
The Caintites charged forward to engage the distracted Mithras and his elite guard; brutal combat ensued. As the fighting raged on Mithras dominated the engagement, until he was struck by the death of his Godly incarnation in the Umbra and stunned by the destruction of his Holy Relic. This allowed the Sabbat to start to gain the upper hand, eventually mobbing the Antediluvian and finally incapacitating him.
This broke Mithras' control over the ash cloud and dropped his defences, allowing the Orbital Solar Reflector to scorch the target area beneath - however, time came to a halt; the Sabbat were momentarily confused as the beams of sunlight stopped just over their heads. An unknown vampire appeared, revealing a secret to the Bishop to enlist his trust. He claimed that he hadn't stopped time, but he could get the Cainites out if they went with him. He insisted the Sabbat came straight away before 'He' arrived... The unknown vampire teleported the Sabbat away and time resumed. He informed the Bishop that "The next time we meet, you will save my life." and then disappeared.
Epilogue
The Sabbat regrouped to celebrate their victory, and were contacted by the Grey Cainite and Herr Schmidt, who commended the Sabbat of Norwich for their actions to bring down Mithras. On hearing that Mithras wasn't completely destroyed the Sabbat immediately mobilised to retrieve his body.
Mithras was later diablorised in a global Sabbat Ritual to empower the Sect.
